Can't recommend a good server, as none come to mind, but if you see me online here, or on icq, send me a message, and I'd be happy to share a few games with you

I love it, but I stink at it. And since I got my new comp I couldn't reinstall b/c I lost my HL cd key.

I am part owner of this server and have full admin rights, so if anyone bothers you, let me know and I can deal with them. Just keep in mind a few things: this IS a clan server, (look for the =[HSU]= tag), but not all the owners are clan members, (like myself). Also the language both in server and on the forums, (www.headshotuniversity.com), can be quite vulgar at times.

You'll see me in there as DjShaggy.

Also, if that's full, go to Halflife2.ca, ip 216.113.197.10:27015. Although I do not have admin rights, the admins here, (they carry the hl2.ca tag) are quite good and very fair. You can also visit their site at www.halflife2.ca, and this is NOT a clan server.

ive quit playing cs till the new patch... im hooked on DoD with my clan there...

You could always download those POD bots...cept they know exactly where you are all the time, and fire deagles ungodly fast.

Its pretty funny cause they talk though.

bots hack... they can see through walls and everything.... they are pretty dumb though. i played a as_tundra game it was me vs 18 bots. i won a few rounds but the bots cheat so i didnt win all the time..

I dislike bots, they take away from the realism of the game.

there's only one map i like....de_dust

dust is the most boring map ever...

granted i like obscure maps. like chateau is pretty cool. and a few others like that...

it may be boring, but i get slaughtered a little less on that map...although still a whole lot

Considering I've been playing CS for over 4 years now, and Dust was one of the first maps in the game, I am really starting to hate it.

starting???? ive hated it ever since i got good at the game. i just all of a sudden realized it sucked...

well the thing is i'm NOT good at the game

i'd have to agree bots take away some realism, they can be pretty predictable...like if you ever place CS_Italy, camp the tunnel, they ALWAYS go there.

hrm never played italy with bots...

anyone ever play the wc3 mod on cs?? its awesome you oughta try it out if you havent...

Play cs some times as well not that mutch but its happings mostly on servers from my country but some times i join servers in usa or England my skill is not the best but i am play fore a clan called Nine with are a clan made of a few of Doc members and myself

I play CS whenever my computer can usually handle it and I'm a moderate player. I didn't really find my strong point however until the 1.6 patch and introduction of the sheild. Trust me Shaggy can vouch on me taking down quite a few skilled players with it and a good old desert eagle.

*Sigh now if only my computer would stop blacking our so I could start playing again.

riot shield is banned from most servers and leagues now so its not that big a deal. besides when your skilled like me you can kill ppl with riot shields cuz they are slow ;P

It was a GREAT game a few years ago, but it's lost some of its luster for me.

There are other games out that have much better graphics, but it's still a great buy. You can get it for like $10.00 in a bargain bin probably.

I will have to keep my eyes open for it - just picked up delta force andComanche for $10 at wallmart and installed them not but haven't gotten around to trying them out yet :-) I love it when I can get 2 games for $10 or less! I will buy them even if they are not the type of games I normally play - just to have something different to play :-)

Indeed, I did that with 3 games for like 20 bucks. Battle Realms, a strategy game; Alien vs. Predator 2:Gold w/ expansion, an fps; and Rise of Nations, another strategy game.

I haven't played any of the except for Rise of Nations since the week or two after I bought them, but getting cheap games is hard for a gameaholic like me to resist .

I just wanted to let you you're not alone Dragonx, I buy a ton of cheap games too.

Glad to hear that as I may have about 500 games here ( I have all the Dungeons and Dragons games and lost more here: -)
I have 4 shelfs full of cds that I seldom even look at and only a few of them are not games!

Originally, CS was an add-on for Half-life, but it is stand-alone now, isn't it?

Haven't played it for years, it got too boring after 5 years :P

Well not really stand-alone, but they have retail copies of Counter Strike of which you don't need Half-Life or it's cd-key.

A few months ago they also released Counter Strike: Condition Zero, it's basically CS with a bit of an updated graphics engine. They also threw in a simple single player game.

when they say a bit, they mean a very small bit of a graphics tweak.

well cs recently got new graphics with the release of CS: CZ (condition zero)

but soon enough, what has been reported to be mid to late september, hl2 will be released with CS:S soon to follow. possibly a few new maps. but different graphics, game physics and other stuff all within the new limits of the hl2 source engine. so if you wanna play cs id wait for that.
