tried that but got no hits at all - i did get a Newsletter tonight about it so I now know its a first person shooter - still do not know if its multiplayer or not :-)

haven't you heard of counterstrike? that's a mod of the original half-life, you should be able to figure it out if you know what that is.

Any of the links on the opening page talk ALL about HL2 (Half Life 2). It's one of the most anticipated games for the PC for many years. It's been rated VERY high on many of the game review websites because its single player campaign is flawless. It lacks in the multiplayer modes though, as the only MP it offers is Counter Strike: Source bundled with it. They're hoping that mod-makers work on some cool multiplayer games for it.

Nope never heard of counter strike but this game is starting to intrigue me - game 1 and 2 and mods! Maybe I should hunt for it in the stores :-)

The reviews said in order to turn up the setting all of the way you need a pretty beefy system, but if you tone down the settings it'll run on many computers.

My system meets all the requirements for it plus some - I was just reading where I can get the Platuim edition with all the mods in it for $19.90 now If I can just find it in a store near me :-) (I can't see paying 5 to 8 dollars shipping for something that is onlu $20 :-)
But you all have tweaked my interest so I will get half life if I can find it and if I enjoy it I will break down and go for halflife 2 :-)

im gonna have to say that HL2 is the BEST FPS i have ever played. and it is easily top 3 of games ive played.
great graphics, great playability, great new guns. this game is all around GREAT!!!!!

Beat the game...
All in All it was a great great great great game. Ending was a little disappointing. However I am quite satisfied and I can wait for expansions and eventually HL3.
HL2 source engine is quite top of the line so they dont have to make a new one for a new game. They are very capable of tweaking it though if they wanted to change some AI aspects or even game physics.
Anyone else play it? Beat it? Any comments at all?
